Our Home Away From Home

The Jayco Jay Feather.

We bought her used on the first trip we took to a dealership. The price was right, we had no idea what we were doing, and we fell in love with her. We signed the paperwork that night. (We can be quite impulsive…)

She has bunks for the kids (Bougie Boy and Bougie Girl) and a king size bed for Bougie Daddy and I. LOL

Once you get to meet Bougie Daddy, you’ll understand why a king size bed in a camper is very important to us. 😉

This picture was taken on our first camping trip to Big Timber Lake. We went with friends who taught us all the ins and outs of camping in a travel trailer. To say we had NO IDEA what we were doing is a complete understatement! It’s amazing how much we’ve learned since then.

The camper was so clean and in great condition. The interior is a little “not my style,” but it’s perfect inside for us now. I often toy with the idea of an awesome makeover inside, but I don’t know how that will affect resale. Anyone have experience with that? Comment below if you can!

If you’re doing a makeover you’re doing it for you and your future trips…..not for the resale value. Personally, pillows, curtains and throws can make it feel fabulous! <3

Very true! Although we often think about how soon it will be before we upgrade for size. But for this year, that is a great idea! 🙂

We bought our first popup camper after a camping trip with a crying baby, in a tent, in the middle of the night surrounded by SKUNKS! It was a used trailer and needed some tender loving care. I made new curtains and recovered the cushions and what a difference it made. We had many years of wonderful memories in that trailer. One of our favorite “local” spots was Driftstone campground in Mt Bethel PA. It was right on the Delaware River. It had activities for the kids, like hayrides and movie nights. Tubing on the Delaware and fishing. We have many cherished memories. Have fun creating your memories with your family, take lots of pictures. Time passes by too fast!

I would not be ok with that skunk part…that’s for sure! The Delaware River is somewhere we are looking to travel to this summer. I will be sure to post a lot of pictures as I get the blog up and running. Thanks for visiting!

We have that outdoor rug! 2 of them, actually. Amazon. They look good, are reversible (a bonus for when the sun fades one side) and were priced right. We tried using Duck tape to make it doubly large at one point. I don’t recommend that as it required a hair dryer to unstick all that gunk. But Duck tape aside, they are great!

We love it! OMG – Duct tape disaster!! I will definitely keep that tip in mind! lol They have metal stakes that you can link two together and hammer them into the ground. That probably wouldn’t work on a patio or deck though. They are also so easy to sweep all the dirt and sand off of when we are traveling. Thanks for visiting and posting! xo
